Voluspa Candle Sizes: A Guide to Jars, Tins and Hearth Candles

Compare seven verified Voluspa Baltic Amber candle formats by wax fill, wick count and published burn time, with practical advice for choosing a size.

Published October 12, 2026 5 min read

Voluspa candle sizes differ in more than wax quantity. A low, wide tin, a tall jar and a multi-wick Hearth candle offer different proportions and published burn times. Choosing well means matching the exact format to the space, the recipient and the way the candle will be used.

This guide compares seven currently listed Baltic Amber formats, giving you a consistent reference fragrance rather than mixing specifications from unrelated collections. Start with our Voluspa candles guide if you are still getting to know the brand.

Voluspa Candle Size Comparison

The table uses each Baltic Amber page’s Product Details section. Burn times are the brand’s approximate total estimates, accumulated across separate uses. They are not instructions for one continuous burn.

Baltic Amber format Listed wax fill Wicks Approximate total burn time
Mini Tin Candle 4 oz / 113 g 1 25 hours
Small Jar Candle 5.5 oz / 156 g 1 50 hours
Classic Candle 9 oz / 255 g 1 60 hours
3 Wick Tin Candle 12 oz / 340 g 3 40 hours
Large Jar Candle 18 oz / 510 g 1 100 hours
3 Wick Hearth Candle 38 oz / 1,077 g 3 80 hours
5 Wick Hearth Candle 123 oz / 3,500 g 5 250 hours

These ounces describe wax fill, not fluid ounces or the empty container’s usable capacity. Do not convert a candle’s stated fill directly into millilitres when planning a vessel or refill. Packaging weight is another separate measurement.

Some product headers display a number followed by a plus sign, while the detailed specifications use an approximation mark. We consistently report the detailed estimates above rather than presenting those figures as guaranteed minimums.

Three Size Comparisons That Matter

Small Jar versus Mini Tin

The Small Jar gives more published burning hours in a different presentation. The Mini Tin is a lower-profile metal format; the Small Jar is embossed glass. Decide whether the recipient prefers a compact tin or a glass object they will keep on display. Neither choice establishes that they will enjoy the fragrance.

Classic versus Large Jar

Both are single-wick examples in this comparison, but the Large Jar contains twice the listed wax fill. The Classic is supplied in a decorative gift box, whereas the Large Jar listing describes an embossed glass vessel with a metal lid. Check the exact package included by your seller before treating either as a ready-to-give gift.

3 Wick Tin versus 3 Wick Hearth

These are substantially different products despite sharing a wick count. The Baltic Amber tin is listed at 135 mm in diameter and 60 mm high; the Hearth measures 148 mm by 155 mm. One is low and broad, while the other occupies considerably more vertical space. The name “three wick” alone is not a useful size specification.

Choose a Candle Around the Place It Will Stand

Measure the intended surface before ordering, then compare that measurement with the exact product dimensions. Include the space needed for safe placement under the supplied instructions. A decorative tray that looks attractive in a photograph may be too small or unsuitable for a burning candle.

For example, the Baltic Amber Large Jar is listed at 95 mm in diameter and 134 mm high. The 5 Wick Hearth is 220 mm in diameter and 232 mm high. This makes them very different objects to accommodate, even before considering their weight or price.

Photographs help you judge colour, texture and styling, but are unreliable as scale references. If a candle will sit near other objects, mark out its footprint with a piece of paper first. Then consider whether that placement is practical when the candle is actually in use.

We do not assign any of these formats a square-metre coverage rating. Fill weight and wick count do not establish a measured room-fragrance result. For scent selection, use our Voluspa candle scents guide alongside sampling where possible.

Match the Format to Your Buying Priority

Your priority Useful starting point Check before buying
Exploring an unfamiliar fragrance Compare a smaller tin or jar The actual scent and total purchase cost
A present with a clear display role Compare glass formats and packaging Recipient’s taste, dimensions and gift-box inclusion
Repeated use of a familiar scent Compare published total hours and current prices Care routine and exact variant
A substantial decorative object Consider a Hearth format Placement, handling and willingness to maintain multiple wicks

These are purchasing prompts, not performance rankings. A large candle can be an unnecessary commitment when the fragrance is unfamiliar. A compact candle may be exactly right for a gift even if another format has a lower price per gram.

Why More Wax Does Not Always Mean More Hours

The table demonstrates that burn time does not increase in a straight line with fill weight. In these examples, the 38 oz three-wick Hearth has a shorter stated total duration than the 18 oz single-wick Large Jar. That is why scaling a time estimate from another format can mislead you.

Compare like-for-like information: exact scent, format, published duration, current local price and included presentation. Our Voluspa value guide explains how to weigh these choices without reducing the decision to wax weight alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these all the Voluspa candle sizes?

No. This is a verified comparison of seven Baltic Amber formats, not a complete catalogue. Other collections, gift sets and markets can use additional format names or different specifications. Confirm the precise listing rather than applying this table universally.

Does a larger candle need a longer continuous burn?

A larger total-hour figure does not override the product’s care limits. Read the Voluspa burn time and care guide before planning your routine.

Can I compare a jar candle with a diffuser by ounces?

Not directly. Candle fill is a mass measurement here; diffuser liquid is commonly stated by volume. Their use and replacement patterns are also different. Compare the experience you want and the correct specifications for each product.

Developing Sizes for Your Own Candle Range

For a private label collection, define each format’s role before multiplying the number of sizes. A useful brief records target fill, vessel dimensions, presentation, intended selling price and testing requirements. Ask the supplier to validate the proposed wax, fragrance, vessel and wick combination together; a competitor’s wick count is not a finished development specification.
